This Air Fryer Mushroom Grilled Cheese with Thyme is where your love for crispy, gooey sandwiches meets culinary elegance.


Ingredients

  • ½ pound (8 oz) baby bella mushroomssliced or any mushrooms work, shitake would be delicious too as are white mushrooms 
  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese shredded 
  • ½ cup pepper jack cheese shredded 
  • ¼ onion minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh garlic minced
  • 2 green onions chopped
  • 2 sprigs fresh thyme
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 68 slices sourdough bread
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper fresh cracked 
  • salt

Instructions

Get out and measure all of your ingredients.

In a medium sized skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter and add your fresh thyme once melted.

Add in the minced onions and sauté over medium high heat until translucent.

Add in the sliced mushrooms, the ½ teaspoon of fresh cracked pepper, and lightly season with salt. Sauté until soft and golden, with a few minutes left of cooking add in the garlic. Sauté for a few minutes longer then remove the mushroom mixture from the pan and let drain on a plate lined with paper towels. Set aside.
