Exciting Story:
I remember the first time I made these Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries for my family. My husband is a huge fan of anything fried, but he’s also mindful about eating healthier. I was a bit skeptical if these would satisfy his craving for regular fries. But after just one bite, he couldn’t stop raving about how delicious and crispy they were!
Now, these sweet potato fries have become a weekly tradition. My kids love helping me season them, sprinkling their favorite spices and shaking the fries in the basket. It’s become a fun, interactive way to get them excited about eating vegetables. Even our friends and family ask for these whenever they come over—they’re that good!
Why These Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries?
- Crispy Perfection: The air fryer ensures that every fry is crispy on the outside while remaining soft and fluffy on the inside—no soggy fries here!
- Healthier Option: With minimal oil and the natural goodness of sweet potatoes, these fries are a guilt-free way to enjoy a classic snack.
- Quick and Easy: From start to finish, these fries take less than 20 minutes, making them perfect for busy weeknights or last-minute snacks.
- Customizable: Whether you like them sweet, spicy, or savory, you can easily tweak the seasonings to suit your taste.
- Family-Friendly: Kids and adults alike will love these fries, and they’re a great way to sneak some extra veggies into your meals.
Tips:
- Cut Evenly: Cutting the fries evenly ensures they cook at the same rate, preventing some from burning while others are undercooked.
- Don’t Overcrowd: Cook in batches if necessary; overcrowding the basket can lead to uneven cooking.
- Season After Cooking: For a different flavor twist, try sprinkling on Parmesan cheese or a drizzle of honey after cooking.
Substitutions and Variations:
- Different Spices: Swap out the paprika and cumin for chili powder and a dash of cayenne if you like a bit of heat.
- Sweet Version: Skip the savory spices and toss the fries with cinnamon and a pinch of brown sugar before air frying.
- Oil-Free: If you prefer to skip the oil, just make sure to shake the basket frequently to prevent sticking.
Make a Healthier Version:
For an even lighter version, use an olive oil spray to lightly coat the fries instead of mixing them in a bowl with oil. You can also try baking the fries on a parchment-lined baking sheet at 425°F (220°C) for a slightly lower-fat option, though they won’t be quite as crispy as the air fryer version.
And there you have it! Crispy, flavorful, and totally addictive—these Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries are sure to become a favorite in your home. Don’t forget to share your creations with us, and if you’re looking for more air fryer recipes, we’ve got plenty more to explore!

Description
If you’re anything like me, you’re always on the hunt for a snack that’s as tasty as it is healthy. Enter these Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries!
Ingredients
- 1 large Sweet potato
- 1 teaspoon Oil
- ¼ teaspoon Garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon Cayenne pepper
- ½ teaspoon Chaat masala
- Salt & Pepper, to taste
- ½ tablespoon Corn flour (corn starch)
Instructions
Scrub and wash the sweet potato well.
Peel and discard the skin. Trim of the pointy ends.
Now cut the potato in half lengthwise.
Then again cut it crosswise.
If your sweet potato is thick then slice it in half.
Cut each slice into ¼-½ inch thick fries. Don’t cut the fries too thin otherwise, they will get chewy and might get burned. Keep in mind that fries will shrink in size after cooking.
Air fry at 400°F for around 12-15 minutes. Shake the basket halfway through for even browning. Depending on the thickness of your fries, it may take a couple of minutes more or less.
