Description

When the craving for something cheesy, hearty, and utterly satisfying strikes, this Cheesy Sausage and Fettuccine Pasta Bake is the answer.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Pasta Bake:

  • 12 oz (340 g) fettuccine, cooked al dente
  • 1 lb (450 g) Italian sausage (mild or spicy), casings removed
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) diced tomatoes, drained
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • ½ cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

For the Cheese Topping:

  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley (for garnish)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Sausage Mixture

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until browned and fully cooked, breaking it into crumbles. Remove the sausage and set aside.
  3. In the same skillet, sauté the onion until softened, about 3–4 minutes. Add the garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

Step 2: Build the Sauce

  1. Stir in the diced tomatoes, marinara sauce, heavy cream, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes. Let it simmer for 5 minutes. Return the sausage to the skillet and mix well.

Step 3: Assemble the Bake

  1. Combine the cooked fettuccine with the sausage mixture, tossing until evenly coated. Transfer the mixture to a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Sprinkle the mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses evenly over the top.

Step 4: Bake and Serve

  1. Bake uncovered in the preheated oven for 20–25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  2. Remove from the oven, garnish with fresh parsley, and serve hot.
