Description

This Cherries in the Snow dessert is light, creamy, and bursting with cherry flavor. The secret? A rich, velvety mixture of cream cheese, whipped topping, and vanilla pudding layered with sweet cherry pie filling and soft cake pieces.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Creamy Layer:

  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 (8 oz) tub whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed

For the Layers:

  • 1 (21 oz) can cherry pie filling
  • 1 store-bought angel food cake or pound cake, cubed

Optional Toppings (For Extra Flavor!):

  • Shredded coconut (for a snowy effect!)
  • White chocolate shavings
  • Chopped pecans or almonds

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Creamy Filling

  1. In a large bowl, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  2. Gently fold in whipped topping until light and fluffy.

Step 2: Assemble the Layers

  1. In a large trifle dish or glass serving bowl, spread half of the cubed cake pieces as the base.
  2. Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the cake.
  3. Spoon half of the cherry pie filling on top.

Step 3: Repeat & Chill

  1. Repeat the layers: add the remaining cake, then cream cheese mixture, then cherries on top.
  2. Cover and chill for at least 2 hours to let the flavors blend.

Step 4: Serve & Enjoy!

  1. Garnish with white chocolate shavings, coconut, or chopped nuts.
  2. Serve chilled and watch it disappear in minutes!
