Scale
For the Brownies:
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
For the Ganache:
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
Instructions
- Prepare the Brownie Base:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs, and vanilla. Mix until smooth.
- Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Let cool completely.
- Make the Ganache:
- Heat the heavy cream in a small saucepan over medium heat until it just begins to simmer. Remove from heat and pour over the chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl.
- Let sit for 2–3 minutes, then stir until smooth and glossy.
- Assemble:
- Pour the ganache over the cooled brownies and spread evenly with a spatula. Chill in the refrigerator for 1–2 hours until the ganache is set.
- Serve:
- Cut into squares and enjoy. For a decorative touch, sprinkle with sea salt, chopped nuts, or edible gold dust.
