Description

This cake isn’t just dessert; it’s a moment. A molten center, fudgy texture, and crackly top all come together to create a chocolate lover’s paradise.

Ingredients

Scale
  • For the Base:
    • 1 box chocolate cake mix
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
    • 2 large eggs
  • For the Filling:
    • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
    • 3 cups powdered sugar
    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
    • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  • Preheat and Prepare:
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  • Make the Base:
In a mixing bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, melted butter, and eggs until well blended. Press the mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
  • Prepare the Filling:
In another bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth. Add the powdered sugar, melted butter, eggs, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract. Mix until fully combined.
  • Assemble:
Pour the filling over the cake base, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
  • Bake:
Bake for 35–40 minutes. The edges should be set, but the center will remain slightly gooey.
  • Cool and Serve:
Let the cake cool for at least 15 minutes before serving. Serve warm with ice cream or let it cool completely for a firmer texture.
