Description

This Chocolate Mug Cake is the perfect single-serve dessert, ready in just 5 minutes from start to finish. It’s made with simple pantry staples like flour, sugar, and cocoa powder, and cooks right in your microwave for a quick, no-fuss treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 4 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • A pinch of salt
  • 3 tbsp milk
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil (or melted butter)
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tbsp chocolate chips (optional, but highly recommended!)

Instructions

Step 1: Mix the Dry Ingredients

  1. In a microwave-safe mug, whisk together the floursugarcocoa powderbaking powder, and salt until well combined.

Step 2: Add the Wet Ingredients

  1. Pour in the milkoil, and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth, making sure there are no dry pockets of flour hiding at the bottom of the mug.

Step 3: Add the Chocolate Chips

  1. Fold in the chocolate chips for that extra gooey, melty goodness.

Step 4: Microwave and Enjoy!

  1. Microwave on high for 1 minute. If the cake is still a little wet in the center, microwave for an additional 10-15 seconds. The cake should be set but slightly gooey in the middle.
  2. Let it cool for a minute before diving in. Top with ice cream, whipped cream, or a drizzle of chocolate syrup if you’re feeling fancy.
