Hello, my sweet bakers! Let me take you on a dessert journey that combines two beloved classics: the Black Forest Cake and the timeless cheesecake. 


Ingredients

Crust:

  • 2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs
  • 6 tbsp unsalted butter, melted

Cheesecake Filling:

  • 24 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 3 large eggs
  • 8 oz semi-sweet chocolate, melted and cooled
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract

Topping:

  • 1 ½ cups cherry pie filling
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream, whipped
  • Dark chocolate curls or shavings

Instructions

  • Prepare the Crust:
    • Preheat your oven to 325°F (165°C). Grease a 9-inch springform pan.
    • In a bowl, mix the cookie crumbs and melted butter until combined. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the pan. Chill while you prepare the filling.
  • Make the Cheesecake Filling:
    • In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth. Add sour cream, eggs (one at a time), and vanilla, mixing until fully incorporated.
    • Slowly mix in the melted chocolate until evenly combined.
    • Pour the filling over the crust and smooth the top.
  • Bake the Cheesecake:
    • Place the springform pan in a larger baking dish and fill the dish with an inch of hot water (water bath).
    • Bake for 55-65 minutes, or until the edges are set but the center is slightly jiggly.
    • Remove from the oven and let cool completely, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  • Add the Toppings:
    • Spread the cherry pie filling over the chilled cheesecake.
    • Top with whipped cream and garnish with chocolate curls or shavings.
  • Serve and Enjoy:
    • Slice and serve this rich, creamy dessert to wow your guests.
