For the Marinade:
- 1/3 cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional, for heat)
For the Wings:
- 2 lbs chicken wings (drumettes and flats)
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds, for garnish
- 2 green onions, sliced, for garnish
Instructions
- Prepare the Marinade:
- In a large bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and chili flakes.
- Marinate the Wings:
- Pat the chicken wings dry and toss them in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight, for maximum flavor.
- Preheat and Bake:
- Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
- Arrange the wings on the sheet, leaving space between each piece. Sprinkle with cornstarch for extra crispiness.
- Bake to Perfection:
- Bake for 20 minutes, then flip the wings and bake for another 20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
- Garnish and Serve:
- Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions before serving. Enjoy hot!
