For the Marinade:

  • 1/3 cup soy sauce (low sodium recommended)
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1 tbsp sesame oil
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tsp grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (optional, for heat)

For the Wings:

  • 2 lbs chicken wings (drumettes and flats)
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds, for garnish
  • 2 green onions, sliced, for garnish

Instructions

  • Prepare the Marinade:
    • In a large bowl, mix soy sauce, honey, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and chili flakes.
  • Marinate the Wings:
    • Pat the chicken wings dry and toss them in the marinade. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight, for maximum flavor.
  • Preheat and Bake:
    • Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
    • Arrange the wings on the sheet, leaving space between each piece. Sprinkle with cornstarch for extra crispiness.
  • Bake to Perfection:
    • Bake for 20 minutes, then flip the wings and bake for another 20 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  • Garnish and Serve:
    • Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions before serving. Enjoy hot!
