- ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, softened
- ½ cup creamy peanut butter
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour (heat-treated—see below!)
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- 2–3 tablespoons milk (as needed for consistency)
- ½ cup chocolate chips (or mix-ins of choice!)
Instructions
Step 1: Heat-Treat the Flour (For Safety!)
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Spread flour on a baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes to kill bacteria. Let cool completely before using.
Step 2: Make the Dough
- In a mixing bowl, beat butter, peanut butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Mix in vanilla extract and salt.
- Gradually stir in heat-treated flour, mixing until combined.
- Add milk, one tablespoon at a time, until the dough reaches a soft, scoopable texture.
- Fold in chocolate chips (or any mix-ins you love!).
