  • 1 small head of green cabbage, chopped
  • ½ lb smoked sausage, sliced into rounds
  • ½ lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional, for spice)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • ½ cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

For Garnish:

  • Fresh parsley, chopped
  • Red pepper flakes (optional, for heat)

Instructions

Step 1: Sear the Sausage

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. Add the sliced sausage and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.

Step 2: Cook the Shrimp

  1. In the same skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter and add the shrimp.
  2. Season with a pinch of salt, black pepper, and paprika.
  3. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove and set aside with the sausage.

Step 3: Sauté the Cabbage

  1. Add the remaining butter and toss in the onions and garlic. Cook until fragrant.
  2. Stir in the cabbage and season with salt, pepper, smoked paprika, onion powder, and cayenne (if using).
  3. Pour in the chicken broth and Worcestershire sauce, then cover and let cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage is tender.

Step 4: Bring It All Together

  1. Return the sausage and shrimp to the skillet and toss everything together.
  2. Cook for 2 more minutes, allowing the flavors to meld.
  3. Garnish with fresh parsley and red pepper flakes. Serve hot and enjoy!
