Exciting Story

One chilly October morning, the kids were out playing in a pile of leaves, and I needed a little “me” time. I decided to whip up a homemade Pumpkin Spice Latte while the house was quiet. The moment I took a sip, it felt like a cozy hug! My husband walked in, took a whiff, and immediately asked for his own mug.

Now, it’s our little weekend tradition. The kids get hot chocolate with marshmallows while we indulge in these velvety lattes. It’s amazing how something so simple can make your day feel extra special.

Tips for Success

  • Real Pumpkin, Real Flavor: Use pure pumpkin puree, not pumpkin pie filling, for the best taste.
  • Balance the Sweetness: Start with less sugar or syrup and adjust as needed.
  • Hot or Iced: This recipe works beautifully over ice for a refreshing fall-inspired drink!

Substitutions and Variations

  • Milk Options: Swap milk with your favorite dairy-free alternative, like coconut or oat milk.
  • Spice Blend: If you don’t have pumpkin pie spice, mix cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, and a pinch of cloves.
  • Decaf Option: Use decaf coffee for a late-night treat without the buzz.

Make It Healthier

  • Use unsweetened almond milk or another low-calorie milk alternative.
  • Sweeten with honey, stevia, or a natural sugar substitute.

Description

Nothing says fall quite like wrapping your hands around a steaming mug of Pumpkin Spice Latte. This homemade version is creamy, flavorful, and filled with the cozy spices that make autumn so magical.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 shots espresso (or sub 1/2 cup hot freshly brewed coffee but I prefer espresso)
  • 1 cup milk of choice, preferably a milk that froths well (we love oat milk)
  • 3 tablespoons pumpkin puree
  • 12 tablespoons maple syrup, to sweeten
  • 1 teaspoon pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream for topping (optional but recommended)

Instructions

  • Pour milk into a small pot and heat over medium-low heat until it is hot and almost simmering, but do not boil the milk.
  • Make your espresso and pour it into a large mug or glass mason jar. Add pumpkin puree, maple syrup, pumpkin pie spice and vanilla and stir until well combined.
  • Use a milk frother to froth your milk for about 30 seconds or until foamy, then pour into the mug on top of the pumpkin espresso mixture. Reserve the extra foam, and spoon it on top.
  • Feel free to top with whipped cream if you wanna get a little fancy. Sprinkle with a little extra pumpkin spice or cinnamon.
