Ingredients

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp butter
  • 6 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning (optional)
  • Fresh parsley or thyme, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  • Season and Sear the Chicken: Begin by seasoning the chicken breasts with salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, then add the chicken, searing each side until golden brown, about 5-6 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and set aside.
  • Create the Sauce: In the same skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté until fragrant, about 1-2 minutes. Pour in chicken broth, scraping up any browned bits, and add heavy cream and parmesan, stirring to combine.
  • Finish Cooking: Add the chicken back to the skillet, lower the heat, and allow it to simmer in the sauce for 10-15 minutes, or until the chicken is cooked through and the sauce thickens.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Sprinkle fresh parsley or thyme on top, and serve hot over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread for dipping!
