Description

Hello, Kitchies! Few things can rival the comforting aroma of freshly baked cinnamon rolls wafting through your home—except when they’re topped with a luxurious maple glaze.

Ingredients

Scale

For The Dough

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 2 1/4 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs

For The Filling

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup pure maple syrup

For The Glaze

  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tbsp pure maple syrup
  • 12 tbsp milk (as needed)

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, granulated sugar, instant yeast, and salt.
In a small saucepan, heat the milk, butter, and water over low heat until the butter has melted. Remove from heat and let it cool for a few minutes.
Add the warm milk mixture, vanilla extract, and eggs to the dry ingredients. Mix until a soft dough forms.
Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface and knead for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours or until doubled in size.
Punch down the dough and roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle of about 12×16 inches.
Spread the softened butter over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges.
In a small bowl, mix together the brown sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture evenly over the buttered dough. Drizzle the maple syrup over the filling.
Starting from one of the longer sides, tightly roll up the dough into a log.
Cut the log into 12 equal-sized rolls. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish, leaving a little space between each.
Cover the baking dish with a kitchen towel and let the rolls rise for another 30-45 minutes.
Preheat the oven to 350°F
Bake the rolls for about 20-25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
While the rolls are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together the powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk until smooth. Add milk gradually until desired consistency is reached.
Remove the rolls from the oven and let them cool for a few minutes.
Drizzle the glaze over the warm rolls.
Serve while still warm and enjoy!
