Ingredients
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup light brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
- 1½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- ¾ cup light brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup maraschino cherries, drained and chopped
- 1½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Step 1: Preheat and Prepare
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper or silicone mats.
Step 2: Mix the Dry Ingredients
In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
Step 3: Cream Butter and Sugars
In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing well after each addition.
Step 4: Combine and Fold
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Gently fold in the chopped maraschino cherries and chocolate chips.
Step 5: Scoop and Bake
Using a cookie scoop or tablespoon, drop rounded balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
Step 6: Cool and Enjoy
Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. Serve and enjoy!
