Instructions
- Prepare the Meat Sauce:
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
- Add the diced onion and garlic, cooking for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
- Stir in the marinara sauce, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for 10 minutes to blend the flavors.
- Mix the Creamy Layer:
- In a medium bowl, combine ricotta, cream cheese, Parmesan, egg, and parsley. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Assemble the Lasagna:
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- Place 3 lasagna noodles on top, followed by a layer of the creamy mixture, a layer of meat sauce, and a sprinkle of mozzarella. Repeat until all ingredients are used, finishing with a generous layer of mozzarella on top.
- Bake:
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Serve:
- Let the lasagna cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh basil or Parmesan if desired.
