Description

Lasagna has always been the crown jewel of comfort food, but this Million Dollar Lasagna? It’s next-level indulgence.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Meat Sauce:

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb Italian sausage
  • 1 small onion, finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 1 tsp dried basil
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

For the Creamy “Million Dollar” Layer:

  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1 cup cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley

For the Lasagna Layers:

  • 12 lasagna noodles, cooked and drained
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Optional Garnish:

  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Additional Parmesan

Instructions

  • Prepare the Meat Sauce:
    • In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and Italian sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat.
    • Add the diced onion and garlic, cooking for 2–3 minutes until fragrant.
    • Stir in the marinara sauce, basil, oregano, salt, and pepper. Let the sauce simmer for 10 minutes to blend the flavors.
  • Mix the Creamy Layer:
    • In a medium bowl, combine ricotta, cream cheese, Parmesan, egg, and parsley. Mix until smooth and creamy.
  • Assemble the Lasagna:
    • Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
    • Spread a thin layer of meat sauce on the bottom of a 9×13-inch baking dish.
    • Place 3 lasagna noodles on top, followed by a layer of the creamy mixture, a layer of meat sauce, and a sprinkle of mozzarella. Repeat until all ingredients are used, finishing with a generous layer of mozzarella on top.
  • Bake:
    • Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
  • Serve:
    • Let the lasagna cool for 10 minutes before slicing. Garnish with fresh basil or Parmesan if desired.
