Ingredients

  • 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup M&M candies (plus extra for topping)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, cream together butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.

Step 2: Add the Wet Ingredients

  1. Beat in eggs, one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
  2. Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until just combined.

Step 3: Add the Chocolate & M&Ms

  1. Fold in chocolate chips and M&Ms until evenly distributed.

Step 4: Scoop & Bake

  1. Scoop dough into 1.5-inch balls and place them 2 inches apart on the baking sheet.
  2. Press a few extra M&Ms on top of each dough ball for a colorful finish.
  3. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown but the centers still look soft.

Step 5: Cool & Enjoy

  1. Let cookies cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely (if you can wait that long!).
