Description

The Patty Melt & Truffle Parmesan Loaded Fries combo is the perfect blend of diner classic and gourmet indulgence. A juicy, seasoned beef patty is layered with caramelized onions and melted Swiss cheese between buttery, crisp rye bread for that perfect crunch with every bite.

For the Patty Melt:

  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20 blend for the juiciest patty)
  • 1 large yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon butter (plus more for grilling)
  • 4 slices rye bread (or sourdough for a twist)
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce (optional for extra flavor)

For the Truffle Parmesan Loaded Fries:

  • 1 bag frozen French fries (or fresh if you prefer)
  • 12 tablespoons truffle oil (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Salt, to taste
  • Optional: Truffle mayo or aioli for dipping

Instructions

Step 1: Caramelize the Onions

  1. In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter and add the sliced onions.
  2. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 15-20 minutes until they turn golden brown and caramelized. Set aside.

Step 2: Cook the Beef Patties

  1. Form the ground beef into two equal-sized patties, slightly larger than your bread slices.
  2. Season with saltpepper, and a splash of Worcestershire sauce if using.
  3. In the same skillet, cook patties over medium-high heat for 3-4 minutes per side until cooked through but still juicy. Set aside.

Step 3: Assemble the Patty Melts

  1. Butter one side of each slice of rye bread.
  2. On the non-buttered side, layer Swiss cheese, a beef pattycaramelized onions, and another slice of cheese. Top with the second slice of bread, buttered side out.
  3. Grill the sandwiches in the skillet over medium heat until the bread is crispy and golden, and the cheese is melty—about 3 minutes per side.

Step 4: Make the Truffle Parmesan Loaded Fries

  1. Cook the fries according to package instructions until golden and crispy.
  2. Once hot out of the oven, toss them with truffle oilParmesan cheese, and a pinch of salt. Garnish with fresh parsley.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy!

  1. Plate the patty melts with a generous side of truffle fries. Serve with your favorite dipping sauces—think truffle mayoketchup, or even a little spicy mustard for the melts!
