Description

Let’s talk about that perfect, cozy meal that makes you feel like you’re sitting at Grandma’s table—Salisbury Steak Meatballs.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Meatballs:

  • 1 lb ground beef (or a mix of beef & pork)
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon onion powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

For the Gravy:

  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt & pepper to taste

Instructions

Step 1: Make the Meatballs

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, milk, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently—don’t overwork it!
  2. Roll into 1-inch meatballs and set aside.

Step 2: Brown the Meatballs

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Sear meatballs in batches until browned on all sides (they don’t need to be fully cooked). Set aside.

Step 3: Make the Gravy

  1. In the same skillet, melt butter and sauté onions and mushrooms until soft.
  2. Sprinkle flour over the veggies and stir for 1 minute.
  3. Slowly whisk in beef broth, Worcestershire, mustard, and garlic powder. Let simmer until thickened.

Step 4: Simmer & Serve

  1. Add meatballs back into the skillet, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes.
  2. Serve over mashed potatoes, noodles, or rice with a sprinkle of parsley!
