Description
This Sweet and Savory Honey Garlic Chicken is one of those dishes that effortlessly transforms simple ingredients into a meal so delightful, you’ll wonder how you ever lived without it.
Ingredients
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken thighs or breasts
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- ⅓ cup honey
- ¼ cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp rice vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- 1 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tsp water (optional, for thickening)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Sesame seeds and chopped green onions for garnish
Instructions
Start by seasoning your chicken with a pinch of salt and pepper. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chicken and sear for 4–5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the pan and set it aside.
In the same skillet, reduce the heat slightly and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Stir in the honey, soy sauce, and rice vinegar, letting the sauce simmer for a minute. If you’d like a thicker glaze, mix the cornstarch with water and stir it into the sauce, allowing it to thicken.
Return the chicken to the pan, spooning the sauce over it until it’s beautifully coated. Let the chicken simmer for another 2–3 minutes to absorb all the flavors. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped green onions, and serve hot.
