Think of these Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars as giant, bakery-style cookies in bar form.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- ½ cup granulated sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 ½ cups semisweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Step 1: Prep the Batter
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
- Stir in the flour, baking soda, and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
- Fold in chocolate chips, making sure they’re evenly distributed.
Step 2: Bake to Perfection
- Spread the dough evenly into your prepared pan, smoothing the top.
- Bake for 22-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is just set.
- Let the bars cool in the pan for at least 20 minutes before slicing into squares.
Step 3: Serve & Enjoy!
- Slice into 12-16 bars, depending on your preferred size. Serve warm for maximum gooeyness or at room temperature for the perfect chewy bite.
